A Call for Prayer for the Month of November

“Time to Take a Stand in the Spirit” (Eph. 6:10-18)

My brothers and sisters of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., considering the events that have transpired over the last few weeks, I feel the LORD is leading this organization to TAKE A STAND IN THE SPIRIT. Although we do not take sides, we recognize that there are great challenges that threaten to disrupt the lives of a great portion of the membership of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. It is time for us to pray as a Body for our brothers and sisters around the world.

There are a few prayer points that I am asking all who will to join me in prayer concerning:

  1. Asking Almighty God to give us relief from the Government Shutdown in the United States.
    • Pray those who, to date, have not received their food assistance support, disability assistance, and other support
    • Pray for government employees furloughed without pay and those emergency workers who are working without pay
    • Pray for those who will be overworked because they will have to work double time for those not present
    • Pray for the emotional trauma that some have already experienced or may encounter as a result of the events during this season
  2. Relief to the people of Jamaica who have experienced such great devastation after Hurricane Melissa
  3. Violence and Civil Unrest in the US and around the world
  4. Economic stability in the face of potential business closures, loss of homes, loss of jobs, etc.
  5. Air traffic disruptions, cancellations and the dangers involved in the aviation industry
  6. Prayer for all families and individuals who may experience grief and hardship this Holiday season

My heart is heavy with the state of the world. Yet I still hold to the promise found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” I am asking all our churches to pray each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the month of November at the time of your choosing and as long as you are led. It is time to TAKE A STAND IN THE SPIRIT and we STAND together as an organization and as a family.
