In recent weeks, attention has been given to health inequities faced by African Americans, and the impact of these disparities on the prevalence of COVID-19 in African American communities. African Americans are at a greater risk of death from the novel coronavirus and COVID-19. Environmental, economic and political factors have compounded for generations, putting black people at higher risk of chronic conditions that leave lungs weak and immune systems vulnerable, including asthma, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.
It is a fact that the world is facing a health crisis that is unprecedented in this generation. In order to stem the tide of the COVID-19 pandemic, governments throughout the world have issued mandates for their citizens and in many cases closed their borders. In light of the pandemic COVID-19, the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. will continue to actively monitor the developments of COVID-19 from global and national leading health and government authorities. The P.A.W. is committed to the health and well-being of all our members and global community.
